Growing Pains – An evening with Lynda Hallinan

Lynda-A4poster colour

Growing Pains is a talk by former “NZ Gardener” editor Lynda Hallinan about the hiccups we encounter as gardeners. The Botanic Park project is experiencing growing pains as it endeavours to get off the drawing board, and Lynda is refreshingly frank about the hits and misses in her own garden. Now that she’s living the rural “good life”, she says her crops simply fail on a larger scale! (She’s had plenty of success too, so don’t worry).

What: An evening with Lynda Hallinan
When: Friday 17 October at 5.30pm
Where: Tauranga Art Gallery
Tickets: $15 available from Palmers Bethlehem (7 days) and GardenPost, 155 First Ave W (off Glasgow St, Mon-Fri only). No booking fees, but limited seats

Cash bar. There’ll be some fantastic spot prizes and raffles.

Thanks to the Sponsors: GardenPost, Palmers Bethlehem, and Incredible Edibles.
All proceeds from the evening go to the Botanic Park project.

September Working Bee

One of our keen young volunteers showing off his wheelbarrow skills.

Spring is in the air, so our next working bee is happening in a couple of weeks. We’ll be spreading mulch around the trees – to help keep weeds down and moisture in.

Forget all the muck raking leading up to the election and get down and dirty with some mulch spreading.

Meet at Sydenham Park at 1pm on Saturday 27th September. If possible, bring a rake and/or wheelbarrow.

We hope to see you there!
